Sam Holmberg, Managing Director at Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel, wants to encourage others to install NetClean’s products.

Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel and Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre in Stockholm has installed Net- Clean’s ProActive Appliance hardware. This will stop access to child sexual abuse content within the walls of the hotel.

“This is one way for us to take responsibility for our operation and contribute to a better society”, says Sam Holmberg, the hotel’s Managing Director.

Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel in Stockholm, which also incorporates the Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre, is part of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, which operates a total of 1300 hotels worldwide. The hotel group is interested in adopting Net- Clean’s products, and the first hotel to do so in Stockholm is the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel.

“I attended a presentation and immediately felt how important NetClean’s products are. We are extremely keen to adopt responsible business practices, and this is fully in line with how we run our hotels. We call this approach Responsible Business”, says Sam Holmberg.

NetClean ProActive was installed during the summer. All cable and wireless data traffic throughout the hotel and the congress centre is now monitored, and all material classed as child sexual abuse content is blocked. Hotel guests are informed about the system, and a notice saying “Child Abuse Free Zone” is posted in the lobby.

”So far, all the reactions have been positive. Most people see this step as completely sensible.”

To date, no alarm has been triggered. But should this happen, the hotel will take no action at present.

“Our task is to stop downloads. It is a criminal act which we do not want committed in our building.”

The investment in NetClean is one step in a more extensive operation aimed at improving social responsibility. Another activity was the Swedish premiere of the film “Not my life”, a film about human trafficking, in the hotel’s congress hall on September 2. The premiere was attended by HRH Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and representatives from NetClean. All takings from the opening night were donated to the Childhood Foundation.

”We don’t hesitate to take a stand on this issue. We want to set a good example, and hope that other hotels will be encouraged to do the same.”
