Safer Internet Day – make a pledge
Today is Safer Internet Day in the UK, the aim is to raise awareness of Internet safety and encourage organisations to get involved with promoting the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people. Although the Internet is a great platform to share knowledge and information, unfortunately it has a dark side and is host to many organised crimes, including child sexual abuse (CSA).
It is our duty as a society to stop the spreading and circulation of CSA material online. It is imperative that non-governmental organisations and key decision makers in the community are made aware of the problem and work together to alleviate this crime.
As part of the campaign, Internet users are invited to create a pledge for Safer Internet Day. Our pledge, not just today, but everyday is to create a safer Internet and save our children from sexual abuse. Check out #shareaheart on Twitter so see what others are pledging.
