NetClean spoke about security at INHOPE Annual General Meeting
In June this year, NetClean were invited to attend the international umbrella organisation INHOPE’s AGM & Hotline Training in Budapest. During the meeting NetClean shared their expertise of quality assurance and information security programmes.
During the meeting Henrik Aldermo, who is responsible for NetClean’s quality assurance and information security programmes was invited to share his knowledge and experience from working with information security, security classification and risk management with INHOPE Hotlines during the security workshop carried out within the framework of INHOPE`s Quality Assurance Programme (QAP).
– Following on from our ISO 9001 certification, we have gathered many years of experience of working with quality and security issues, and it is something that we work continuously on. We are also part of the world that is working to end child sexual abuse, and therefore we – have good insight into the area that the INHOPE hotlines operate in. In addition, we have extensive knowledge of law enforcement’s processes and expectations, explains Henrik Aldermo.
INHOPE is an umbrella organisation for 47 hotlines in 43 countries across the world engaged in combating online child sexual exploitation and child sexual abuse material. As part of the QAP, INHOPE is carrying out an effort to secure and maintain high operational standards across its member hotlines. This includes handling highly sensitive information such as CSAM in a secure but also legally compliant way. This effort primarily aims to protect the integrity and privacy of the children depicted in the images and videos but also to ensure that the material analysed is handled according to national and/or local laws and jurisdictions.
Through implementing an information security programme and standardised processes, which take into consideration national and local differences, it is possible to guarantee that the material does not risk ending up in the wrong place or being handled incorrectly. It also ensures that information is sent through to law enforcement in the most effective way, and that hotlines can more easily share information with each other. Ultimately, the QAP will facilitate the start-up of new hotlines as the programme in itself will serve as a guide to monitor the progress and the quality of new hotline initiatives worldwide.
